OTHS IMC Reading Rewards Programs Read for a Lifetime and Lincoln Awards books are both part of the OTHS IMC Reading Rewards programs. You can earn tickets for anything your read, AND you can earn ever more for reading from the Read for a Lifetime or Lincoln Award lists. The main Reading Rewards program is the OTHS READING CHALLENGE.To participate in the OTHS READING CHALLENGE:
Register with Beanstack using your OTHS email address. (Students do NOT need to have an OFPL library card to participate.)
Log in and complete the challenges. (You can count reading you do for classes and for recreation!)

The more you read throughout the year, the more chances you have to win. For logging time spent reading and earning different Activity Badges, you will earn virtual tickets that you can put in any of three Grand Prize drawings. Grand Prizes include:

United Through Reading connects military families, separated by deployments, through reading. Deployments can be especially hard for kids who don’t know why mom or dad can’t come home. So, UTF found a way bridge the large gap through the love of reading out loud to each other why they’re away.
The O’Fallon Community Food Pantry distributes donated food items to needy residents with a 62269 zip code within O’Fallon and Shiloh, Illinois. The pantry is operated by volunteers and has served the community since 1992.
OTHS Family for Families and OTHS Feed the Future
Family for Families and Feed the Future are two support programs offered by and funded through OTHS faculty and staff to support OTHS students by providing personal hygiene, food, and other items as needed.
Since 1953, the Cancer Research Institute has led the field with support for immunotherapy research and clinical trials. Together with our donor, patient, and scientist communities, they continue to fund revolutionary breakthroughs to cure all types of cancer.
A place of healing for both animals and people using progressive programs. Not far from St. Louis, in O’Fallon, IL, you will find Randy’s Rescue Ranch, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Specialized programs have been established to connect special needs and autistic children and adults with the rescued animals. These programs have successfully integrated life skills training along with socialization development and inclusion leading to a win-win situation for all. Soon, there will also be a program to connect veterans suffering with PTSD with the farm and its animals.
NAMI envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.
NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Lincoln Activity Badge
The Lincoln Award: Illinois Teen Readers' Choice Award program encourages teens to read for pleasure and to become lifelong readers. Named after former President Abraham Lincoln, an avid reader and noted author, the Lincoln Award is sponsored by AISLE (Association of Illinois School Library Educators).
Students who read four or more titles are eligible to vote and will be contacted by the OTHS IMC for prizes and voting details.
Read for a Lifetime is a statewide reading program directed by the Illinois Center for the Book that targets high school students. This initiative promotes the enjoyment of reading by encouraging students to read both classic and contemporary literature and rewards them for their efforts. By participating in the program, students develop a love of books and reading that will last a lifetime. Each student who reads at least four titles from the posted booklist during the school year will receive a certificate of achievement signed by Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White.
Students who read four or more titles will be contacted by the OTHS IMC for prizes and certificate details.
OTHS divides fiction books into nine genres. Explore each of those genres by reading one book from each genre. When you read all nine, earn the Genre Master badge and a prize from the IMC.
